Prof. Cagatay Ozturk

Professor Çağatay Öztürk is the Head of The Spine Centre at the Liv Hospital in Istanbul. He is one of the most renowned orthopaedic surgeons in Turkey and the Eastern Mediterranean.

Education and Background

Professor Öztürk graduated as a Medical Doctor at Hacettepe University in 1997. After completing his national compulsory service, he moved to Uludağ to pursue a residence in Orthopedics and Traumatology. 

After nearly a decade of hands-on clinical experience, he became an Associate Professor, and then a Professor Doctor in Spinal Surgery in 2017. His academic career has been peppered by his frequent international publications.

Research and Practice Focus

For Professor Öztürk, spine surgery ought to be handled holistically, always privileging the patient’s comfort and mobility potential. His interventions are mostly focused on providing a return to 360° mobility to patients with scoliosis and kyphosis.

He also provides minimally-invasive spinal surgeries for patients with:

  • Spinal stenosis
  • Spinal curvature or deformities
  • Spinal fractures and injuries
  • Cervical herniation
  • Cervical disc prosthesis

Finally, he provides laser-based and endoscopic discectomies for adults and children with slipped or herniated spinal discs.
